What We Believe

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Faith Baptist Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible.

God

There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

The Bible

God has preserved His Word in the 66 books of the King James Bible for the English language. The Bible is our final authority for our beliefs and our actions. We believe the Bible to be without error and completely reliable. The Bible was written by human authors under supernatural guidance from God Himself.

Revelation

God has revealed himself to us through his Son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the Holy Scriptures, and through all of creation.

Mankind

Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creations.

The Fall

When Adam and Eve chose to follow the temptation from Satan to disobey God and to willingly sin against God by eating the fruit that God had forbidden them to eat, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted by sin. This caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of creation. Sin and death became the reality of all of humanity.

Salvation

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who believe Jesus, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Jesus alone.

The Church

We believe the local church is composed of members who have been saved and baptized according to the command of Christ, and have voluntarily united together for the purposes of worship, fellowship, service, and sharing the Gospel with the whole world.

Heaven and Hell

We believe in a literal Heaven where all people throughout history who have accepted Jesus' gift of salvation will forever be with God. Heaven is a place with no sin, no temptation, and perfect fellowship with God.
We believe in a literal Hell where all people throughout history who have rejected Jesus' gift of salvation will forever be separated from God. Hell is a place of fire, torment, darkness, pain, and complete separation from God. People will go to Hell, not because God did not love them,
but because they rejected God's love.

The End Times

We believe in the literal interpretation of the Scriptures in their grammatical and historical context. We believe in the pre-tribulational rapture of believers, followed by the seven-year tribulation. We believe in the pre-millennial return of Christ to the earth and His literal rule of 1,000 years. Following this one-thousand-year reign is the Great White Throne judgment and then the creation of a new heaven and new earth.
